Sometimes, the most meaningful partnerships begin with a stroke of serendipity. Our story with this client from Burkina Faso is one such tale, unfolding through a blend of chance, persistence, and shared appreciation.
It all started in September 2024 with an inquiry on Facebook—not from the client himself, but from his brother. This initial contact opened a door, leading to our visit to Burkina Faso in August 2025. It was during this visit that we met Ibrahim, the elder brother and the central figure of our story.
Ibrahim is what you might call a true “China hand.” Not only does he frequently travel to China for business, but he also once lived in Guangzhou for a considerable time. His command of Mandarin is impressive—so much so that calling him half-Chinese wouldn’t be an exaggeration.

At the beginning of our meeting in Burkina Faso, there was a natural reserve on both sides, as we were still getting to know each other. To break the ice, we invited Ibrahim and his brother to join us for dinner. It was over the meal that something wonderful happened. Ibrahim opened up unexpectedly, revealing his great fondness for a classic Chinese dish: boiled fish with Sichuan pickles. We believe that food is the heart of life, and this simple shared enjoyment of sour fish became our common ground. It melted away formalities and built an instant bridge of camaraderie, planting the seed of trust that would later blossom into collaboration.

During his visit in China this month, Ibrahim mentioned that he had been seeing our advertisements on Facebook for many times. We also maintained close communication with him. He consistently emphasized the critical importance of quality, candidly sharing that trust is often the biggest hurdle—many hesitate to switch suppliers due to fears over inconsistent quality. Our face-to-face meeting in Burkina Faso significantly strengthened that essential trust, directly paving the way for our current partnership.
This collaboration is the result of a nurturing process that spanned over a year and a half. It was a convergence of the right opportunity, the right place, and, most importantly, the right connection between people. We are grateful for this journey and look forward to building a lasting and prosperous partnership with Ibrahim for years to come.
